This company is providing management services to international real estate developers focusing on the UK market and they have their financial headquarters in Nicosia. They provide all back office services for bookkeeping, accounting, financial control, banking activities, HR, payroll, finance and funding consulting, overheads management and company secretarial to a wide range of clients based in Cyprus, BVI and UK. They are looking for a highly responsible Financial Controller to lead the finance team of up to five people, run the suppliers, customers and bank accounts side of things and to replace the CFO when he is away.

Running the office (this includes running three clients’ offices in UK too – HR, overheads, etc)
Managing the finance team of two to five people and liaising directly with non-financial staff in construction and project management teams
Manage the company’s cash flow and payment system
Prepare accounts for review by the accountants and auditors (both in Cyprus and UK)
Review VAT, CIS, PAYE and tax returns prepared by the bookkeepers
Maintain company secretarial log and draft such documents, such as board resolutions and loan agreements
Preparing funding packs and liaising with banks for KYC and development loan applications
Communication with governmental departments
Liaison with auditors and other external parties

Nearly / newly ACCA qualified
Experience with managing a team
Experience in an auditing firm will be very beneficial
Commercial experience, especially where running the finance function
Commercial experience in drafting resolutions for Director Meetings
Commercial experience in managing cash flows
Funding proposal preparations and main liaison for lenders
Experience with SAGE 50, and/or experience with HMRC (advantage)
Fluent in English
Experience in the construction industry or experience with raising funding for property development and mortgages would be an advantage
Trust worthy
Ability to work independently
Eager to work and highly motivated
Good communication skills to liaise directly with the suppliers

The company offers a monthly salary based on skills and experience.

The working hours are 9:00 to 18:00, Monday to Friday, with an hour lunch break – but somebody who is familiar with this type of role understands that the work isn’t confined to these hours and there are times when extra hours are required to meet deadlines.
